Graeme Clark Scholarship 2007
The suspense is over: the 2007 Graeme Clark scholarship goes to Eszter Lovány from Hungary! The lucky winner is a special education student at the faculty in Budapest. She would like to become a teacher in specialised education, where she wants to focus on the defense of the interests of the hearing-impaired.
The award, so Eszter, is seen not only as a financial but also as an emotional support and shows “that all my efforts and the continuous learning have been worth it”. The celebration takes place on March 7th at a very special location: the Australian Embassy in Budapest! We are sure that this event will be a memorable moment for all participants.
About the Graeme Clark Scholarship
The Graeme Clark Scholarship is a unique award open to Cochlear Nucleus implant recipients. The Graeme Clark Scholarship Foundation provides college age students a grant for tuition. The Foundation was established in 2002 in honor of Professor Graeme Clark to thank him for his lifelong pursuit of finding a solution for the hearing impaired and his pioneering work in the field of cochlear implant technology. Professor Clark invented the world’s first multichannel cochlear implant over 25 years ago. Awarded by Cochlear, this scholarship consists of financial assistance (EUR 10,000) towards a college degree at an accredited university. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to Cochlear’s ideals of leadership and humanity.
